Rowe-Curtis comes to the City with a wealth of communications and marketing expertise working with federal, state, regional and local governments, with news and media outlets and with public-private and philanthropic partners to achieve change. She brings a response driven track record of collaboration to affect change. She joins the City of Redmond after a 14-year career with the federal government as the *Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs "Puget Sound Health Care System" where she managed high profile news, web, social media and crisis communications programs, shaped internal, external and congressional affairs, and strategic partnership development.
Prior to joining the federal government, Rowe-Curtis managed external affairs programs for the University Of Washington School Of Medicine, for the Sisters of Providence Health Care Corporation, and served as a legislative staff member for the King County Executive, for the Assistant Majority Leader of the Washington State Senate and for the Seattle City Council.

throughout her career, most recently receiving the Public Relations Society of America Puget Sound Region President’s Award. She has been the recipient of four national Public Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations Communications Awards from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She currently serves as a member of the Alumni Governing Council for the University of Washington Evans School of Public Affairs; previously she served on the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce Leadership Tomorrow Curriculum Committee and its Alumni Governing Committee, as a six term Commissioner and Mayoral appointee for the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission and on the Board of Directors for the Washington State Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (WBBA).
“This position will develop and manage a city-wide strategic communications plan, advise and direct city leadership regarding communications issues and strategies, and implement multi-faceted internal and external communications programs,” said Mayor John Marchione.

Jeri brings an established record of innovative and effective results in communications and marketing and we’re very excited to welcome her to Redmond." added Marchione.
Rowe-Curtis was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and will oversee the City’s Office of Communications that includes print, web, cable television, AM 1650 radio and social media services. She will also serve as the City’s primary Public Information Officer (PIO) managing the distribution of press releases and media relations. The position will reside within the City’s Executive Department.

Jeri received her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Southern California and her Master's in Public Administration from the University of Washington. She continues to expand her professional training and development as a public affairs professional and has served as a mentor to numerous graduate students and fledgling public affairs professionals in the health care arena.
