Redmond Middle School Proposes 2-Story Addition

The proposed project includes an approx. 17,500 SF two-story addition to the existing Redmond Middle School building  The addition will include eight classrooms, two shared instruction rooms and various support spaces. Site work includes an exterior courtyard, landscaping, and underground utilities.

  1. Why can't they build a bigger structure in the same location that the portables are? They can also use some of the green field for parking, and add trees in that parking instead of removing mature trees. Is there a public review period posted somewhere? Or is it a done deal? Families that feed into RMS should have an input on this but all I heard is crickets! Rachel K. facebook

  2. What a joke! They are crunching the new classrooms in at the front of the building even though there is adequate space on the south side where the portables are. It's a HUGE LOT with plenty of space for new additions. What is wrong with the planners? Oh, and what about the hideous traffic jams? They can't get the current number of kids to school already. So they are adding more kids to the mess. But wait - isn't enrollment in the district dropping (and off by 10% since 2019.)
