REGARDING THE STEM SCHOOL
ReplyDelete"The school district builds schools where our students are located. We
have significant growth in that area of the district and own the
property where the proposed school is to be sited....adjacent Alcott Elementary School [in east King County].

COMMENT TO LWSD ON THE STEM SCHOOL LOCATION - ATTN. Forrest Miller.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider it wise to build this school outside of the Urban Growth Boundary. This site will attract housing in the vicinity of the school and put
pressures on the jurisdictions to increase densities beyond the
present boundary. A precedent for growth and density is made with
this project location. The City of Redmond categorically never
approves extensions of their sewer line into county lands without
annexation -- so as to mitigate of density migration. The eastern UGB
is a critically, sensitive boundary and this project will promote, over
time, serious urban sprawl into rural East King County. Please find a
more appropriate and sustainable location.
