FACING FAMILY PROBLEMS? The Sammamish Plateau Parent Networking Group was formed to help address family concerns and challenges. The group's next meeting will be held on February 28 at the Sammamish Public Library next to Sammamish City Hall at 11:30-1:30 and also at 425 East Lake Sammamish Parkway at 7:00-9:00 PM. COLLEGE SORORITY INFORMATION FORUM. Save the date! The popular College Sorority Information Forum has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, at the Bellevue Regional Library, Meeting Room #1, 1110inh Ave. NE. This is an event for high school girls and their parents who want to learn about college sorority membership. The forum is sponsored by Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic.

PLANT TREES FOR PEARL JAM! The City of Redmond's Green Redmond Partnership and the Cascade Land Conservancy have partnered to sponsor a special work party on Saturday, March 5 at Hartman Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will be planting native trees and shrubs in partnership with Pearl Jam, to mitigate the 7,000 metric tons of carbon emissions their last World Tour generated. This is part of a pledge to help restore 33 acres of forested parkland in Redmond, Seattle, Kirkland and Kent. No experience is necessary, but work clothes are a must. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have a parent or guardian sign a waiver form. Please register if you wish to attend.

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP: THE POWER OF HOPE. The Art of Leadership, Creative Leadership Weekend for Teens is an experiential workshop series for youth, ages 14-18, who are interested in leading groups and organizing events using the arts. The Art of Leadership will be held on March 19-20 and Advanced Art of Leadership will be held on April 2-3. In this training youth will explore techniques for using the arts to work with groups, learn how to lead art activities, and develop facilitation skills. Application deadline is March 7th. DIGITAL ARTS FESTIVAL. Meet leaders in digital arts, music, and gaming at the Redmond Digital Arts Festival! There will be classes on filmmaking, digital illustration, and more, as well as demonstrations, films, and even a chance to submit your own artwork for consideration. The festival will be held on March 18th and 19th at the Digipen Redmond Campus. Visit the web site for more information, to register, or to submit artwork.

RIDE SHAKEDOWN. RIDE Shakedown is part of a global snowboard tour and this is the second year they will host it at Summit Snoqualmie. They are looking for volunteers. Volunteers will receive the official RIDE Shakedown jacket. Free meals will be given during working hours. Minimum age requirement is 16 years. Could be great for a resume, it's a fun weekend and a great insight into how a passion can became a job. Register online. The event takes place on March 18th and 19th.

5TH ANNUAL CLASSIC ROCKATHON. Calling any aspiring young bands, DJs, solo artists of any genre who love Classic Rock. The Old Fire House announces the opening our 5th annual Classic Rockathon. The Rockathon is produced by local Redmond students and is a great chance for young musicians to get heard by industry professionals, play your favorite classic rock songs and win some great prizes including free recording in the Old Fire House professional recording studio. WHIZ KIDS WANTED. Do you know a kid (or kids!) that are doing something cool or amazing in Redmond? We are looking for local "Whiz Kids!" SOCCER SPRING TRAINING PROGRAM. The Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association will host spring training from April 4 - May 19 at Marymoor Park. Registration is underway.
