City Hires New Parks And Recreation Director And New Public Works Director

Redmond, WA – At last night’s meeting, Redmond City Council approved Mayor John Marchione’s appointment of Carrie Hite as the City’s new Parks and Recreation Director and Dave Juarez as the new Public Works Director.
“Carrie and Dave bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their Director positions,” said Mayor Marchione. “We look forward to having them join the City. I am confident their energy and leadership will contribute to continued success in Redmond.”
Carrie has over 20 years of Parks and Recreation and Human Services experience. Most recently, Carrie served as the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services for the City of Edmonds. Carrie has a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Parks Management from Western Washington University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington.
“I have been impressed with Redmond and all it has to offer citizens.  I am very excited to be part of a strong City team to bring incredible services to the community,” said Carrie Hite.
Dave has over thirty years of progressively responsible experience leading the planning, design, and management of public works infrastructure. His experience includes twenty-three years working for the City of Austin, most recently at Austin Water Utility as an Assistant Director of Water Resources Management. Dave has a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&I University in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
“I have a collaborative leadership style and a proven record of reaching across traditional boundaries to solve problems,” said Dave Juarez. “I look forward to developing positive relationships with City team members and providing responsive, respectful and resourceful service to the Redmond community.”
