  2. James D Johnston, I can't say I know all the details - but it’s my understanding the previous administration had made plans to do a downtown park on an already owned piece of land that overlooked the Sammamish river. And the current downtown park plan was “cemented” entirely by the current administration. That’s from talking to people with knowledge - not from first hand research - so take it for what it is. 3. [This was Ms. Ive's Redmond Reporter LTE published in 2015]

This administration and council have demonstrated the worst of local politics — using the ballot box to attempt to “scare” the public about their personal safety and to “seduce” the public with parks and the environment.

Redmond residents are smarter than that! There are too many examples of how this mayor and this council have not been responsible stewards of this communities’ resources starting with spending $24 million, without voter approval, on “their” downtown park when a majority of what was in both ballot issues should have been, could have been completely or partially addressed first!

This mayor and this council continue to focus on new, rapid development of Redmond at the expense of all of us here in Redmond who have been committed to our hometown for years.
