UPDATED: The school district's "Safety Tip Line" could be called LWSD's best kept secret. I stumbled onto it on the Administrative Directory page of the district website. The Tip Line website is here.
The "Safety Tip Line" is an independent service to help parents, students and the community report safety issues anonymously. Have you heard of it, or used it? The number is: (866) 548-3847
You should call them Here's how they explained it: to me:
You can call them for just about any safety problem your child could encounter within the jurisdiction of the District. Substance abuse. Sexual harrassment by a student, coach or staff member. Bullying. Suicide ideation. Gun slinging. Just about anything related to safety. Read More >>
If you have a safety problem - like kids influencing your child to take drugs or drink on campus - or have any other safety problem, call the 'Tip Line'. This independent, outside service takes all the calls, not the District. Your call will be anonymously reported to the proper authority at school. The school becomes empowered to identify the safety problem and resolve it.
The Tip Line is a communications outlet for solving your kid's safety problems you might not otherwise report owing to fear of retribution, embarrassment or for whatever reason. You can call them for feedback, updates and progress on resolving your problem, anonymously. They give you a unique PIN number for your case.
Lake Washington School District is one of many districts signed up to Safety Tip Line service and each district has their own 800 number. The Tip Line identifies 1-866-548-3847 with our district.
