EvergreenHealth Medical Center "Community-owned" |
KIRKLAND, Wash. – EvergreenHealth has been named among America's 50 Best Hospitals™ by Healthgrades for 2024. This is the fourth straight year the community-owned hospital system has earned the distinction and puts EvergreenHealth in the top 1% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance.
To determine the top hospitals for 2024, Healthgrades evaluated approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Unlike other hospital studies, Healthgrades ratings are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. The 2024 Healthgrades analysis revealed significant variation in hospital performance, making it increasingly important to seek care at top-rated programs. From 2020-2022, if all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to America's 50 Best Hospitals, 176,124 lives could potentially have been saved.*
EvergreenHealth has placed among Healthgrades' top 250 hospitals each year for 11 consecutive years, and it has placed among Healthgrades' top 100 hospitals for eight consecutive years, beginning in 2017.
"We are honored to be named among the 50 best hospitals in the nation once again. Every member of our team across our hospital system continues to strive for excellence in every aspect of delivering EvergreenHealth's safe, high-quality clinical care and service to our patients and families. This recognition is a testament to their tireless, patient-centered efforts to continuously offer the best possible care. Awards like these also remind us of our ongoing commitment to our values and purpose to advance the health of the community, which has guided EvergreenHealth physicians, providers, staff and volunteers since our doors opened more than 50 years ago," said EvergreenHealth CEO Ettore Palazzo, MD.
Community members who receive care at one of America's Best Hospitals are more likely to experience improved outcomes, meaning the care received at hospitals like EvergreenHealth is proven to help families and individuals lead healthier lives following their visits.
In addition to receiving the America's 50 Best Hospitals Award, seven EvergreenHealth specialty services have been recognized with top five state rankings for 2024.
EvergreenHealth Gastrointestinal Medical Care and overall Gastrointestinal Care have been ranked no. 1 in the state of Washington for the second year in a row; EvergreenHealth Pulmonary Care, Stroke Care, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Cardiology have been ranked no. 2 in their respective fields in the state of Washington; and EvergreenHealth Critical Care has been ranked no. 4 in the state of Washington.
These rankings make EvergreenHealth the highest-ranked hospital for Stroke Care as well as Gastrointestinal Care, surgery and medical care in the Seattle area for 2024. EvergreenHealth is also among the top 10% in the nation for Stroke Care, overall Pulmonary Services and Gastrointestinal Surgery. Healthgrades evaluates hospitals solely on what matters most–patient outcomes–to determine the top-performing hospitals for specialty care in each of the 32 states assessed.
