EvergreenHealth Named Best In The Region

EvergreenHealth Named Among Best In Region For Third Consecutive Year

Kirkland, Wash. – For the third year in a row, EvergreenHealth has been named among the best hospitals in the Puget Sound area and the state of Washington by U.S. News & World Report, ranking No. 3 in the Seattle Metropolitan area and No. 4 in Washington state. The 31st annual report compares nearly 5,000 medical centers nationwide in 16 medical specialties and 10 procedures and conditions.

In addition to the health system’s overall ranking, EvergreenHealth earned a “high performance” rating in three specialties and five procedures, placing it in the top 10% of hospitals in patient outcomes for knee replacement for the fourth consecutive year; nephrology and colon cancer surgery for the third year in a row; and heart failure, hip replacement and urology for the second consecutive year. EvergreenHealth also received high performance ratings in patient outcomes for gastroenterology and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well.

“We are honored to be recognized by U.S News for providing exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, a testament to the compassion and unwavering commitment of all of our physicians, providers, staff and volunteers— who truly live our values of compassion, respect, excellence, collaboration and accountability,” said Jeff Tomlin, MD, EvergreenHealth CEO.

U.S. News based its rankings on several factors, such as patient outcomes, patient satisfaction scores and evaluations of each hospital's ability to develop and sustain a system that delivers high-quality care, as determined by expert opinion surveys of board-certified physicians.

EvergreenHealth is among 107 Washington hospitals to be included in the 2020 - 2021 U.S. News rankings. In addition to EvergreenHealth, University of Washington Medical Center, Virginia Mason Medical Center, Overlake Medical Center and Providence Regional Medical Center Everett were selected as the top five hospitals in the Puget Sound region. To view the full list of U.S. News’ “Best Hospitals by State,” visit https://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/area.
