Community Service
Years of hands-on community service led me to Council where I work the regional issues of housing affordability, human services, and public education. Leadership on local boards and regional advisory committees strengthen Redmond’s public-private partnerships, community services, and schools. My volunteer leadership in PTAs, schools foundation, Kiwanis, and non-profits continues to sustain our District’s high quality education - distinguished schools retain employers and ensure continuity to our neighborhoods and economy.
Thank you for electing me to Council to serve our city the last 4 years - it's a privilege to serve on the range of regional committees coordinating the City and King County collaborations - I am genuinely humbled and appreciative of the opportunity to continue to help make Redmond the unique home and business center it is for all of us.

Redmond Vision
Redmond celebrated its Centennial anniversary the year before I took office my first term. Redmond’s Mayor and City Council continue to lay the ground work for Redmond’s next 100 years, and beyond. My email byline reads “Redmond – a great place to live, work, and play for over 10,000 years” – all true, and keeping the long view in mind - the archeological site on Bear Creek dates to over 10,000 years ago!

I am honored to represent you in realizing our visions for Redmond in the 21st century, and to take the long view in the sometimes challenging choices for our community.
As a Council member, I will work to continue our city's purposeful efforts to:
- Align the city budget with Redmond residents’ priorities.
- Advance residents’ priorities for a sustainable environment, a sense of community, a safe city, and a responsible city government.
- Promote open data initiatives to engage and activate residents' and businesses' roles in Redmond’s governance.
- Evolve diverse, connected residential neighborhoods and two business cores, Downtown and Overlake.
- Achieve the best value in services and infrastructure for our tax dollars.
