Kirkland, Wash. – EvergreenHealth was recently named one of the country’s best places to work in the 2017 edition of the “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” list from Becker’s Hospital Review. EvergreenHealth is the Puget Sound region’s only health system to make this year’s list, which recognizes organizations committed to fulfilling missions, creating outstanding cultures and offering competitive benefits to their employees.
“Great people are what make great organizations. These achievements are only possible through the dedication of each employee, volunteer, and physician who serve our patients, community and each other,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “Being named a ‘Great Place to Work in Healthcare’ is a direct reflection of our commitment to our culture and our values of compassion, respect, excellence, collaboration and accountability.”
The organizations included in the “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” list encourage professional development among their employees and strive to promote tomorrow's leaders. Organizations that were selected demonstrated strong employee recognition programs, mentorship and benefits, as well as provide community support.
EvergreenHealth’s addition to the “150 Great Places to Work” list comes as it also celebrates 45 years of service to the Puget Sound region’s Eastside community. EvergreenHealth is one of only two Washington state hospitals to earn the distinction this year, joined by Confluence Health in Wenatchee. Also named to the list is Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a partner of EvergreenHealth at the Halvorson Cancer Center on the medical center’s Kirkland Campus.
The accolade joins numerous other national achievements recognizing EvergreenHealth for quality care over the past year, including:
· America’s 100 Best Hospitals 2017 from Healthgrades;
· a 5-Star Overall Rating from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), one of only 83 in the country;
· a Leapfrog “A” Hospital Safety Grade;
· recognition as one of U.S. News & World Report's "Best Regional Hospitals;”
· Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for the eighth time in nine years; and
· a Truven Top 100 Hospital award.
Becker's Hospital Review, the leading source of business and legal information for the healthcare industry, determined this year’s list based on nominated organization, noting previous recognitions, awards, employee benefits, culture and workplace excellence. The editorial team also considered diversity, employee satisfaction and retention when developing the list.
