LINKS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. The district's LINKS program (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools) places volunteers into schools as tutors, mentors, or classroom helpers. Would you like to help the children in our district? Visit the LINKS web site to learn more and sign up to volunteer.

BRAIN RULES: SURVIVING & THRIVING FROM HOME TO SCHOOL. Most of us have no idea what's really going on inside our heads. Yet brain scientists have uncovered details every business leader, parent, and teacher should know. Brain Rules, taught by John Medina, is about what we know for sure, and what we might do about it. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 7:00-9:00 PM. WHERE ARE MY RHS PTSA FORMS? WE MAY HAVE MISSED GETTING A PACKET TO YOU! We apologize if you did not receive an RHS PTSA informational packet in the mail in August. However, you can still get all of the forms you need right on our web site. Please take a few minutes to read the Welcome letter, complete the Membership Form, complete the Volunteer Form, and consider some of the options for helping fund PTSA this year. We have our annual "Pass the Hat" fundraiser, which can be included on the Membership Form. DEVELOPING CAPABLE YOUNG PEOPLE TRAINING PROGRAM.This 9-session training program is based on the bestselling book by H. Stephen Glenn, Ph.D. and Jane Nelsen, Ed.D, Raising Self-Reliant Children in a Self-Indulgent World. The course will help parents create a more peaceful, calm home with no yelling, nagging, pleading or bargaining. Course starts on September 29th and runs through December 1st from 7-9 PM at the LWSD Resource Center. Course fee is $150/person and $20 for a second family member.
