UPDATED: Redmond Locals Wary of Controversial Plymouth Housing Project

This video is eye opening.

After the Special Meeting closed, Mayor Birney refused to respond to questioning from the media: though a 2/13 agenda memo stated:  "Council's approval gave the Mayor approval to pursue the project contingent on further discussion."

  1. This is a one-sided, deceitful video headlining NIMBYs in a panic. It shows people in Kenmore and implies that most Redmond residents are upset about this. Not true; most people at the Redmond City meeting for this project were supportive. The reason it's on this parcel is that Redmond has always intended this to be used to address homelessness. This is NOT a shelter. Under the development agreement, it's for full-time residents who would have to prove they have a significant disability in order to qualify. It's close to transit because most residents won't have a car or aren't even capable of driving. People need to realize that you can't address homelessness without having more homes, and that these people have to go somewhere. If you're saying "not here" then you're really just saying "I find these people yucky and I don't want to have to see them."
