This is a cool video of what's to come with light rail services in Redmond! Mayor Birney speaks, too.
This is Ride Transit Month and we at "Move Redmond" want to get you pumped up for the East Link light rail coming to Redmond! While we don't have a set date for the Overlake Village or Redmond Technology Stations to open yet, we know that now is the time to get Light Rail ready! "Move Redmond" has a whole campaign about safe routes to light rail, you can learn more here.
READ MORE to learn about "protected bike lanes," see the Eastside Transit Map and ORCA
What does it mean to be light rail ready? It means that you know where the stations are going to be and how you'll be able to get there by walking, biking, or taking the bus! At Move Redmond we are here to help you!
- Check out The Eastside Transit Map
- If you are an employer, sign up for ORCA Business Passport to get your employees
- Or snag yourself an ORCA card on MyORCA.com
- Learn how to bike if you don't know how! (Move Redmond is planning a class this Fall...stay tuned!)
- Get bike parking through the Go Redmond grant program so folks can easily manage the last mile between your workplace, apartment, or local business and the light rail station!
- Ensure in the East Link bus restructure that folks who commute from around the region into Redmond have frequent and reliable bus access
- Signing up our members for ORCA passes so more employees have paid transit passes
- Advocating for protected bike lanes and trail connections to serve the light rail stations
- Organizing for a safer pedestrian environment near Overlake Village station
