Final City Budget Hearing November 20

REDMOND, WA – The City of Redmond will host the third public hearing for the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. The hearing will take place at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85^th Street, during the regular City Council meeting. The goal of the public hearing is to gather community input about City issues, priorities and fiscal matters before the final budget is adopted on December 4, 2018.

My input was e-mailed to Council and posted in a Letter to the Editor of the Redmond Reporter.  I hope this is message enough and they will forgo their 1% property tax.

The City continues to use its Budgeting by Priorities process for formation of the 2019-2020 budget. By using lessons learned from the previous efforts, the City strives to continue providing the highest priority services to the community. The current 2017-2018 Adopted Budget is on the City’s website at www.redmond.gov/budget. 

The Council has been conducting budget study sessions which began October 23, 2018. A complete budget calendar can be found on the City’s website at www.redmond.gov/BudgetCalendar.

In addition to public hearings, community members can voice their opinion about the budget at any regular Council meeting during the “Items from the Audience” section on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.  Public comments regarding budget matters are also gathered at budget hearings or can be emailed to bpquestions@redmond.gov. Comments will be collected until budget adoption.
