(1) Society Secretary, Society Office and Director
What: Leadership Position
Member of Executive Committee and Member of the Board of Directors.
Attends Exec Board meetings and RHS Board meetings
Attends and takes minutes of Executive Board Meetings and RHS Board Meetings. Compiles minutes within two weeks of meetings and sends out to respective members of Exec Board and Board members. Provides final copy of minutes for permanent record.
When: Executive Board meets monthly, on Thursdays before Board meetings.
(2) Society Director-at-Large, Board Member
What: Leadership Position (3 positions open)

Actively participates in RHS Board meetings and activities. Willing to volunteer for tasks outside of Board meetings.
When: RHS Board meets Monthly (except July, Aug, Dec) on Tuesdays prior to the Speaker program.
(3) Co-Volunteer Coordinator
What: Partners with current Volunteer Coordinator. Staff support available.
Actively seeks people for RHS volunteer opportunities. Post volunteer opportunities on VolunteerMatch.com, review candidate resumes and direct resumes to appropriate people. Develops and maintains data base of current volunteers and potential volunteers. Tracks volunteer hours. Requires computer (spreadsheets/database), interpersonal and phone skills. Works with Membership to contact new members to welcome new members and seek level of interest in volunteering.
Where: Can work from home. Requires contacting people by phone/email on regular basis and scheduling volunteers for various activities. Time also required for maintaining database and tracking of volunteer hours.
What: Works with Philanthropy Chair to develop and implement fundraising events. Requires people skills, willingness to attend events for the purpose of networking and building relationships to further RHS priorities and goals.
When: Hours required throughout the year for committee meetings, phone calls, lettering writing and meeting people.
1. Saturday
Speaker Series Coffee Setup (2 people at each meeting)
What: Arrive and
begin at 9 am. Prepare coffee in 2
brewers and water in 1 brewer. Set up
table with tablecloth, brewers, sugar, tea bags, cups etc. Refresh table as needed prior to SSS and
during meeting. Breakdown after meeting,
clean brewers and return to storage.

When: 2nd Saturday
of the Month (Sep-Nov and Feb-Apr)
Greeters (2 people at each meeting)
What: Welcome
attendees, answer questions and monitor the donation basket.

3. Saturday
Market Booth Attendees
What: 2 hour
shifts over a 6 hour period (2 volunteers per shift): 9-11am; 11am-1pm; 1-3pm
Actively interact
with people at the Saturday Market. Handout Saturday Speaker Series rack cards,
provide information on how to join RHS and answer other misc. questions about
RHS.

When: 1st Saturday
of the month May through October
6. Saturday
Speaker Series (SSS) Program Committee Chair
What: Leads program committee in
selection of speakers, marketing material development, promotion of programs,
and monthly program production. Must be
able to attend SSS events.
You
would be joining an already active, strong committee with committed members
eager to help a new chairman get started.
When: Committee begins speaker
selection process in October of each year with goal to have promotion materials
ready by the following May. Programs occur Sep-Nov and Feb-Apr.
