All three students were first place winners in the Washington SkillsUSA competition in their fields.

“I am thrilled all three of our students won medals. It speaks highly of our hard-working students and our college. Their success is so well deserved,” said Don Dale, LWIT industrial technology faculty and SkillsUSA team mentor.

The SkillsUSA National Championship requires contestants to take a technical written exam, an oral and written communications exam, and perform hands-on task tests, competing against each other and the clock. The contestants are judged on their technical skills, knowledge, communication skills, customer service and ability to read and follow directions.

The competition included more than 5,900 students and advisors from around the country in 98 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
