The plan includes the design and construction of the Overlake Village South Detention Vault located in the east parking lot of the Sears store. The South Detention Vault project will deliver the first regional stormwater mitigation facility in Overlake.  The underground project is huge - the size of  City Hall.

Description

The Overlake Village South Detention Vault project is being constructed in two phases. Phase 1 construction involves the relocation of existing power and stormwater utilities. The current location of these utilities lies within the footprint of the new vault and are an obstruction to the new vault installation. The utility relocation work must be completed prior to constructing the new vault, which is scheduled early 2014.  Read More >>

Puget Sound Energy, under a separate Facilities Relocation Agreement, is scheduled to begin work on the relocation of power services in June and complete the work by October.

Construction of the stormwater trunk line in NE 20th Street is expected to begin in mid-July. During this period, NE 20th Street will be closed for nighttime work. NE 20th Street

will be open during the day with lane restrictions. This means that traffic levels on other arterial roads in the vicinity of the project likely will increase. In October, the City’s contractor is scheduled to begin work on the stormwater trunk line located on private property. This work will occur primarily during the day time with the possibility of some night work. All project work will be completed by November.
