City of Redmond's Cleveland Streetscape project begins phase 2 of construction

Redmond, WA -  The City of Redmond’s Cleveland Streetscape project begins phase 2 of construction on Monday, June 16 through Sep. 1, 2014. One traffic lane will be open evenings from 3:30 pm – 7 am, and all weekend, between 161st Ave NE to 164th Ave NE.  The Cleveland Streetscape project enhances the developing community gathering place in the heart of downtown and prepared it for eventual two-way street operation. The project is located in the historic downtown, between the future Downtown Park and the Redmond Central Connector Trail. Project features include signal improvements, widening sidewalks, on-street parking, street lighting, utilities and landscaping.

The project will cost $5 million and is funded by a $3.37 million Surface Transportation Program (Urban) federal grant and the City’s Capital Improvements Programs budget.
